Bavaria has been in corona lockdown since November.
This has now been extended and tightened again at the most recent Corona summit until January 1st.
An overview.
The corona lockdown will be extended until January 1st.
Some rules and measures have been tightened again - there will be easing at Christmas.
That was decided by the country leaders with the Chancellor on Wednesday (December 25) in Berlin.
Munich - How many people can the family
celebrate Christmas with
?
Who are you allowed to meet over the
holidays
?
And what about
New Year's Eve
?
Questions that are
currently preoccupying
people in Bavaria
.
At a
summit of the country leaders
with Angela Merkel on Wednesday, a binding answer should be found.
It is now clear how things will continue until next year.
Details about Christmas, New Year's Eve and dates in Bavaria are now fixed - an overview.
Corona in Bavaria: Start of the Christmas holidays brought forward
But so much in advance: Bavaria has rushed ahead of the big conference on Wednesday on one point: Due to the
corona
pandemic
, the start of the
Christmas holidays
in the Free State will be brought
forward
.
Instead of Wednesday, December 23rd, the last day of school before Christmas is now Friday, December 18th.
The
Prime Minister Markus Söder
(CSU) announced on Tuesday.
The meaning and purpose of this decision: The
distance between lessons and Christmas should be
increased, as
Söder explained
.
"This will improve the possibilities for families in Bavaria to be able to celebrate the most important festival of the year in a healthy and carefree way." The time span of almost a week between school lessons and Christmas means that the
risk of corona infection is
"significantly reduced", argued Söder.
Christmas in Bavaria: Corona special regulations should apply to holidays in December
The
Corona
lockdown
, which has been in
effect
since November,
is being
extended
in Bavaria
, but
special regulations
apply
for the
Christmas season
- from December 21st to at least 27th
.
Meetings of up to ten people from several households should be allowed during this time.
Children up to 14 years are excluded from the number of people.
This emerges from a draft resolution on which the prime ministers agreed on Monday evening.
This was also decided at the Corona summit.
Self-quarantine for
several days should be
recommended
for the time after the Christmas holidays
.
Agreements
for the upcoming celebrations
should also be made with the
churches
.
The guideline here is that large church services should be avoided.
Corona in Bavaria: Self-quarantine recommended after Christmas
Clear rules are also planned
for
New Year's Eve
: Joint New Year's Eve celebrations with ten people from more than two households should be allowed.
The resolution proposal should provide in brackets to allow the Christmas rules to apply until January 3rd.
When it comes to
fireworks
, there will be no general prohibitions.
Only the fireworks initially have no pandemic effect, said Prime Minister
Markus Söder
after the Corona summit.
In order to avoid larger groups, however, fireworks are not allowed in busy squares and streets.
Bavaria: Clear corona rules for New Year's Eve
Outside the holidays to for
private meetings
a
restriction
apply to five people from two households.
It
was also stipulated
that every person in closed rooms that are accessible to the public or when visiting or visiting customers
has to wear
a
face-to-face mask
.
All of these measures will initially apply until December 20th.
According to the bill, the federal and state governments want to agree on how to proceed by December 15.
There are also strict rules with
regard to the
corona incidence
: If this drops to fewer than 35 new infections per week for 100,000 inhabitants,
may Bavaria and the other countries
independently decide on easing
.
After December 20, the measures
are to be extended
every two weeks
if the situation does not improve.
The federal states of Schleswig-Holstein and Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania are already allowed to relax the corona rules, since the infection rate is lower there than in the rest of Germany.
Corona incidence: Bavaria should determine its own relaxation
If the incidence is over 50, it is
mandatory to wear a mask in
class from the seventh grade
onwards
.
Infection-free schools can be exempted from this.
In corona hotspots - i.e. from an incidence value of 200 and more cases - classes from the 8th grade should be switched to partial or hybrid lessons.
In addition, a new test strategy is planned: In the event of an infection in a class, students and teachers should be
quarantined
for five days
and then run
rapid
tests.
The tests are to be made available by the federal government of Bavaria and the other states.
Due to the extension of the
corona lockdown
, hotels, restaurants or fitness studios will remain closed until December 20th.
Citizens should continue to stay at home as far as possible, work in the home office and avoid trips and excursions.
Söder once again specifically
addressed
the
skiing holiday
.
He also doesn't want to spoil the fun and enjoyment of skiing - but he just couldn't imagine the mass queuing at lifts and gondolas.
There are also
new requirements
for
retailers
and
shopping centers
: one customer is allowed to stay per 20 square meters of space.
In addition, more corona rapid tests are to be used in senior citizens' and nursing homes to protect risk groups.
From December 1st, 30 rapid tests per month should be possible for each person in need of care.
So far, 20 tests per resident per month were available.
Before the corona summit: Söder threatens to go it alone with stricter rules
But Prime Minister
Söder has
already announced: His goal for the corona lockdown is to
extend and tighten it
.
He hoped, so Söder literally, that the current policy paper of the federal states will be tightened again in the conference.
Otherwise, Bavaria would
single-handedly
introduce
stricter rules
.
On Thursday,
Söder
will meet with his cabinet and discuss the results of the summit.
Then at the latest it will become clear whether
Bavaria
deviates from the nationwide resolutions.
