Severin Hammel, for example, was relaxed on Tuesday morning.
"I'm not a doctor," said the headmaster of the Heinrich Campendonk Realschule.
But he can imagine that the early start of the vacation can serve to reduce the risk of infection.
"If it then means that the children can celebrate Christmas with their grandparents more safely, the two days will be worth it."
Normally there would be a church service and cookies together before the holidays - “nothing was planned this year anyway”.
Hammel is also convinced that there will be a solution for parents who cannot take their time off.
“We are ready to offer emergency care.
I think that the ministry is also thinking about it. "
Emergency care required
Monika Proske, deputy chairwoman of the joint parents' council in the district, confirms that this is also necessary.
“For many parents, early vacation is difficult.
You have to work, ”says the woman from Peißenberg.
Proske has nine children, three of them go to school.
She does not have any care problems.
“We have a luxury there, my husband is a teacher.
So he's at home when the school is closed. ”Nevertheless, a solution has to be found for other families.
Overall, she finds the absence of the two school days "not particularly tragic" if it serves to reduce the risk of infection.
"It is important that children can have contact with their grandparents." In order to make this possible, everyone has to act independently - protect themselves and live healthy "to strengthen the immune system".
This applies to everyone, not just students.
In any case, the Peißenbergerin has doubts that the schools are a corona hotspot.
Some principals are very reluctant
Bernhard O'Connor, headmaster at Welfen-Gymnasium Schongau, is not entirely convinced of this either.
“I can only speak for our school, but I didn't have the feeling that running the school posed a great danger.” Nevertheless, he can “live well with the decision.

O'Connor does not give much thought to the missed material - because the current school year went smoothly with few exceptions, in which individual classes were in quarantine.

Other school principals completely declined to comment on the subject.
Or, like Tobias Pupeter, principal at the Weilheim am Hardt elementary school, kept a low profile.
“We don't have any official information yet,” he wrote in an email to the local newspaper that afternoon.
