An indictment was filed today (Thursday) in the Magistrate's Court in Acre against a resident of Deir Hanna for assault and threats against his wife.
The police investigation began last Thursday, after a complaint was received from the woman.
She claimed her husband of eight years had assaulted her and then threatened to murder her and their four children together because he thought she was cheating on him.
In her complaint to the police, she said that her husband told her: "I want to kill you together with the children while you are asleep."
At the same time as filing the complaint, the man sent threatening voicemails on WhatsApp, in which he was heard saying: "If I call again and you do not answer - I will bring you underground".

Upon receiving the complaint, police forces acted to arrest the man.
After the investigation began, the police asked the court in Acre to extend his detention, but Judge Jamil Nasser ordered that he be released under house arrest under restrictive conditions.
This, after the defendant's lawyer claimed that the police were not advancing the investigation at a reasonable pace.
The police appealed the decision to the Haifa District Court.
District Judge Erez Porat granted the appeal, leaving the defendant in custody pending the indictment against him today.
Upon filing the charges, the Magistrate's Court in Acre granted the police prosecution's request to extend the man's detention until the end of the legal proceedings against him.
