Cannabis fingers inside a birthday cake: Warden suspected of smuggling drugs to prisoners

According to the suspicion, the warden was arrested during an act in Hadarim prison, and with her were arrested two prisoners - one of whom is serving a prison sentence for trafficking in hard drugs.

A prison guard from Hadarim Prison was arrested yesterday after she was caught putting, according to the suspect, a birthday cake for a prisoner, inside which were found eight pieces of hashish and pills suspected of being a dangerous drug, along with two small vials containing alcohol.

She will be brought today (Thursday) together with two prisoners, for a hearing on the extension of detention in the Magistrate's Court in Rishon Lezion.

The investigation is being conducted at the National Unit for the Investigation of Wardens at Blade 433. The warden was questioned yesterday, and police say she is cooperating in the investigation.

After the interrogation, she was taken into custody at Neve Tirza Prison.

This is a warden who enlisted in the IPS as a soldier in 2015, and remained to work for the organization as a warden after her release from the army.
