Christmas in times of Covid: cities rely on street lighting

As the holidays approach and in the absence of Christmas markets, the municipalities have decided to pull out all the stops to counter the current gloom due to the restrictions.


This year, cities have decided to go the extra mile to dazzle their residents.

To compensate for the cancellation of the Christmas markets on their territory because of the sanitary instructions and to make people forget this period of so heavy confinement, the municipalities are indeed playing the big game. Many of them have decided to adorn their streets more with light by multiplying garlands, luminous braids and other decorative objects shining in the night.

Neighborhoods that usually remained in the dark will shine with 1000 lights.

“With nightfall at 5:30 pm and even though there is a 9:00 pm curfew, people will be able to enjoy public spaces.

With restaurants and bars closed, the street will ultimately be the place for entertainment and strolling, ”
