In 24 hours, the municipality of
San Fernando
experienced a revolution.
After one of the most devastating news for sports and popular culture in our country was released, the death of Diego Armado Maradona, hundreds of people began to march to the morgue of the Petrona Hospital in Cordero, where they would make him autopsy.
Today, one day later, the neighborhood went from becoming an unusual tribune of sadness and fervor to the void left by some
makeshift altars and offerings
to Ten.
By order of the prosecutor in charge of the case, Maradona's body was transferred yesterday from the San Andrés de Tigre country to the
morgue of the San Fernando Hospital
, located on García Mansilla in 1949.

For the residents of San Fernando, November 25, 2020 will be doubly historic.
A neighborhood that was historically quiet, with few tall buildings and with the idiosyncrasy of the old suburbs, was upset by the magnitude of the call for people to fire Maradona.
Even the train station was closed.
With part of the bar and fans of the
Club Atlético Tigre
, around 6 pm hundreds of fans from San Fernando and its surroundings organized themselves to bid farewell to Diez at the doors of the morgue.
With
rosaries in hand, flags with Diego's face, national team shirts and several
football
clubs
, the fans awaited the result of the autopsy while singing court songs, remembering their memorable goals and singing the National Anthem.
In the neighborhood the
horns of the cars
were not stopped
and in the corners people gathered to seek comfort.
In the midst of so much suffering and nostalgia the famous
song of the World Cup in Italy 90
was heard
.
Farewell.
Between tears and screams of pain, the phrase most chanted by the fans was: "Let's go Dieguito !!" and "Goodbye God."
"He was a person who gave an immense joy to an entire country and a generation. I cannot believe that he has left, it is a very great sadness," said Leandro, who has been a Maradona fan since he was 10 years old.
"When I heard the news, I couldn't believe it. I feel like half my life is gone, it's a very big loss," adds Sofía, a resident of San Fernando.
After four hours of vigil, around 10 pm the idol's corpse was taken to a burial house in La Paternal.
During the passage of the heavily guarded police caravan, people on the side clapped and took photos with their cell phones.
Between tears and screams of pain, the phrase most chanted by the fans was: “¡Vamos Dieguito !!” and “Hasta siempre Dios.” A farewell that shows that Diego is considered by many more than the best footballer in all history .
In the houses,
Argentine flags were hung from the balconies
and windows in representation of pain.
In others, they
posted posters with messages for Maradona
expressing their admiration and goodbye.
"There is still sadness everywhere, without a doubt this date will remain in the memory and in the hearts of all of us. Be a part of Argentina", says Luis, a merchant in the area.
