Dozens of relatives and friends

approached this Thursday at dawn to say goodbye to the remains of Diego Maradona, in a private ceremony held at the Casa Rosada.

From the last minutes of Wednesday, former teammates of Maradona in his times as a footballer, former players led by the Diez in the National Team and other members of his inner circle were present at Balcarce 50.

In addition, there were his ex-partners and their children, with the absence of Diego Jr. and Rocío Oliva.

Claudia Villafañe and her daughters Dalma and Gianinna

, heartbroken, arrived at the Government House after midnight on Wednesday.

Without making a statement, they quickly entered the building.

A while later, Verónica Ojeda arrived along with

Diego Fernando

, the star's youngest son.

There was also another daughter,

Jana

.

Instead, Diego Jr. is in Italy, where he is hospitalized for coronavirus.

For the same reason, he was not going to participate in the meeting of all of Maradona's children on October 30, for his father's 60th birthday.

Finally, Diego's wish could not be carried out.

The one who stayed

at the door was Rocío Oliva

.

The last couple of the Ten approached the Casa Rosada, but they did not allow them entry.

In tears, he commented that they told him to come back at 7 in the morning and queue for the general public.

The group of

world champions in Mexico '86

could not be absent

.

Oscar Ruggeri had commented in the afternoon that, in a chat they share on WhatsApp, they had planned to pay a surprise visit to Maradona when he recovered from the operation that they performed two weeks ago in Olivos.

After the news of the death, by that same route they agreed to arrive "as a team."

This is how they paraded at the entrance to the Government House, although without "the captain".

Oscar Garré, Ricardo Giusti, Jorge Burruchaga, Sergio Batista and Luis Islas were some of those who passed - head down, gaze lost - to bid Diego the last goodbye.

One of the first to arrive was

Sergio Goycochea

.

The goalkeeper was, along with Maradona, figure in the world runner-up in Italy '90.

They also shared the conduction of "La Noche del Diez", that show that revolutionized Monday nights in the second half of 2005, on the screen of El Trece.

Guillermo Cóppola, Diego's ex-manager, and Víctor Galíndez, masseur for the National Team and a buddy in the Albiceleste concentration, joined the pain samples.

The Boca squad, recently arrived from Brazil, was represented at Casa Rosada.

Carlos Tevez

–for whom Diego had a devotion– and Ramón “Wanchope” Ábila got off the plane after the postponement of the Copa Libertadores match against Inter from Porto Alegre and went to fire Pelusa.

They hugged and talked with

Claudio “Chiqui” Tapia

, president of the AFA.

Also in that group was Rolando Schiavi, summoned by Maradona for the National Team in the 2010 South Africa Qualifiers.

On his own account, Martín Palermo appeared, another xeneize idol, who knew how to share the field with Maradona.

In addition, the "Loco" scored the agonizing goal against Peru in that World Cup qualifier with Diego as coach.

A

striking presence

was that of Rafael Di Zeo.

The Boca bar, in shorts and a T-shirt, went into the building while La Doce sang for Diego in the Plaza de Mayo and introduced floral wreaths in the Casa Rosada.

All of them participated in the private wake, which began after 1.30 am, when the coffin with Maradona's remains entered the Casa Rosada.

At 6 o'clock the doors open to the general public, who can come until 4:00 p.m.
