From January, citizens will have to dig deeper into their pockets for drinking water.
The fees will rise for the next three years from 1.57 to 1.69 euros per cubic meter.
Schöngeising
- The reason for the increase is the technical management of the Schöngeising waterworks.
In the future, it should either be given to an external service provider or continue to be provided by the municipality.
But then another building yard employee has to complete the training to become a water specialist.
A decision by the local council on this issue is still pending.
Either way - both options will cost money.
Therefore, the additional costs must be included in the calculation.
Mayor Thomas Totzauer (FW) found the increase of twelve cents justifiable, especially since it is still cheap compared to other water suppliers. Gerhard Gauck (SPD) agreed: For 1.69 euros you can get “1000 liters of the best drinking water”. The increase was decided unanimously by the local council. os
