Forstern

- Forstern is sticking to the Edeka resettlement: The municipality will not re-examine the property next to the new fire station for other uses.

The corresponding proposal by the Green parliamentary group not only met with little approval from the local council, it also sparked a lively debate (see box)

As reported, the Greens had requested that the affected corridor numbers should be checked again - among other things with regard to whether the planned senior citizen center could be built there.

Mayor Rainer Streu (AWG) reminded in the meeting on Tuesday evening of the vote on July 28th, when it was decided with 14: 3 votes that the municipality should continue negotiations with Edeka.

“Actually we would have wanted to present the new concept today, but in view of the application we postponed it,” explained Streu.

AWG councils surprised at the proposal

Georg Els jun.

(AWG) made no secret of what he thought of the motion: "That left me speechless." He spoke of a "disregard for majority decisions of democratically elected bodies" and "showmanship".

In addition, according to Els, the community is making itself untrustworthy and risking that Edeka will at some point no longer be interested in a new building in Forstern - and will migrate.

Markus Fritsch (AWG) also saw this danger, who said he was “very surprised” about the application.

He also feared that a care center right next to the fire station would be problematic for noise protection reasons.

You need a sensible location for the senior citizens' facility, “you can't pave that into the industrial park”.

Sebastian Klinger (CSU) also had concerns about the emission requirements.

Erwin Nominacher (SPD) recalled that the local council once thought about the development of the community - with businesses in the north and living in the south.

"A care center there also makes more sense," said Nominacher and pleaded for the Edeka "finally to be implemented".

Simona Loupal (SPD / party-free) joined in and explained that the old town council had already considered whether the said area might not be a suitable place for the senior citizens' center.

But one deviated from that.

Peter Feckl (AWG) was "a little annoyed" about the application.

This sends the wrong signals to investors from both Edeka and the care center, who may now be unsettled.

“It's a shame that it goes public before you talk about it internally in the local council,” Feckl regretted, noting: “That out there is an industrial area - and it should remain an industrial area.

A senior citizen center doesn't fit in there. "

Josef Obermaier (CSU) said briefly: "What we decided on July 28th, we should pursue straightforwardly and quickly - nothing else."

Maria Feckl (Greens): "It's about the financial audit of the property"

In the course of the discussion, Maria Feckl (Greens) clarified the application: “With a view to the community's budget, we are primarily concerned with the financial audit of the property” - in other words, whether the sale to another investor, be it for a nursing home or other retail, could not bring more money.

"I don't understand why that is not checked."

Anton Oskar (CSU) said that perhaps one could actually generate more money with a different use of the property.

But he also expressed the fear that the community could at some point be without local suppliers.

The majority of the committee saw it that way - the majority of the application was rejected.

Please to the municipal councils: "act carefully" on Facebook

In

the past there were hardly any

motions from parliamentary groups

or individual councils in the Forsterner municipal council.

Since the beginning of the current legislative period, the Greens in particular, but also the CSU and the speakers, have used this opportunity to set priorities and address topics.

The

Greens application

to re-examine the utilization of the land next to the new fire station (see report), now led to a lively discussion about applications in general.

While some councils of the AWG were “

speechless

” to “

amazed

” to “

angry

” about the Green initiative, Erwin Nominacher (SPD) said: “Basically, every parliamentary group has the right to submit motions.

I don't think it's right that things are being ironed out like that. ”There are many new councilors in the committee, and they also have new ideas.

Franz-Josef Obermaier (AWG) also said it was legitimate to submit applications.

But I haven't known it like that for 24 years

.

That has now become too party-political.

We are elected for all citizens ”, he said and appealed to his council colleagues to come

back to a joint discussion far away from party politics

.

Mayor Rainer Streu (AWG) also addressed various discussions in the social media, above all on

Facebook

.

In the Forstern Group there, in particular, various users often give the impression that the administration and the old municipal council have “slept” or “planned out into the blue” in recent years -

“and that's just not true,”

said Streu.

For example, there has long been a finished concept for affordable living space and a multi-generation house in the center of the village - in the area of the old fire station and building yard.

“But for this, this area must first be free.

I would also like to do everything overnight, but it only works gradually, as the budget allows. "Streu asked all councilors who are active in social media to" act carefully "there.
