Fuel leak in the south: Hundreds of residents reported a pungent odor and were called to close windows
Residents of Ashdod and Ashkelon complained of suffocation following an unusual smell of gas and fuel that lasted for many hours.
The source of the leak was discovered in an EPA facility, on the roof of which were found traces of raw fuel mixed with rainwater. The Ministry of Environmental Protection is investigating the incident and will consider taking action against the plant.
