The urine and blood extracted in the autopsy operation of Diego Armando Maradona (60) will begin to be analyzed for the toxicological tests ordered by the Justice, informed sources of the investigation.

The samples will be sent to the laboratories of the Scientific Police of San Martín, whose experts will be in charge of detecting if the ex-footballer had traces of alcohol or some type of drug, drug or toxic substance.

"We know he was a hypermedicated patient, now we will see what comes out in the results," said one of the researchers.

Blood and urine were not the only samples collected

Wednesday at the autopsy for further studies.

According to the sources, the doctors also preserved the entire Maradona heart - whose weight was "twice normal" - for histopathological examinations, which are those in which the organs and tissues are analyzed microscopically.

In addition,

samples of adipose tissue and hair

were collected

, and several swabs were made

, all elements that will be sent on Friday to another laboratory, that of the La Plata Scientific Police headquarters.

The autopsy determined that Maradona

died at 12 noon on Wednesday

as a result of "acute pulmonary edema secondary to exacerbated chronic heart failure" and discovered "dilated cardiomyopathy" in his heart.

The necropsy was carried out in the San Fernando hospital morgue, lasted three hours, was filmed with two cameras and was headed by the head of the San Isidro Medical Corps, Federico Corasaniti, who was also in charge of collecting the corpse of the former captain of the Argentine national team, in the house of Tigre where he died.

Along with Corasaniti, four other official experts were present at the autopsy: the Director of Legal Medicine of the Buenos Aires Scientific Police, Carlos Cassinelli;

the head of the San Isidro morgue, Agustín Grimoldi;

the head of the San Martín Medical Corps, Alejandro Vega, and the head of the La Plata Medical Corps, Javier Grubiza.

As a party expert proposed by Maradona's ex-wife, Claudia Villafañe, the doctor Mario Schiter also acted as an overseer of the autopsy, who had already had the former soccer player as a patient when he was hospitalized in Uruguay and when he was treated in Cuba.
