La Bombonera, that mythical stadium that vibrated countless times with its emblematic player Diego Armando Maradona on the field, at the dawn of the '80s and on his return between 1995 and 1997, was the silent image of pain.
To say goodbye to the world idol, the Boca court appeared on Wednesday night completely in the dark with
the Diez box as the only illuminated point.
As soon as the death of the star was known, shortly after
1:00 p.m.
,
many fans approached the gates
of the stadium to feel the pain for the death of the idol on that stage.
All in silence.
As the afternoon progressed, more people approached, with sad eyes and disbelief at the shocking death.
Candles, flowers and rosaries were repeated
in a kind of sanctuary mounted on Door 3 of access to the Bombonera and some messages on cardboard:
"Good trip D10S"
, "Always in our life", "Eternally thanks Diego, you live in our hearts ".
At night, through a movement of different clubs, it was agreed that
the Argentine stadiums be illuminated at 10 o'clock
at
night
for 10 minutes, in tribute to the emblematic shirt worn by the best player of all time.
And there it was the Brandsen 805 court that left the most impressive postcard.
First by shining with a "thank you" meaning.
Then the lights went out and there was illuminated that place where Maradona so many times encouraged, jumped and shouted goals from his beloved club.

Maradona had been in La Bombonera on March 7 last, with Gimnasia de La Plata, in the consecration of Boca in the Super League, on that night in which the star was applauded from all four sides.
This Wednesday, Boca had agreed to play their corresponding match against Inter in Brazil for the Copa Libertadores round of 16.
Finally, Conmebol suspended the match and, on his return to Ezeiza, coach Miguel Angel Russo took the floor on behalf of the group.
"
We were not here to play, our heads went the other way
. I thank Conmebol who understood the situation in Boca. This is not the time for a football match," said the DT.
The rest of the stadiums, also illuminated
