Nitzan Raz, 24, from Harish, is the warden from Hadarim Prison who was arrested on suspicion of smuggling drugs to a prisoner with whom she had an affair - this was allowed for publication today (Thursday).
At the end of an undercover investigation that lasted about a year during which suspicion arose that the warden was having a romantic relationship with one of the inmates at Hadarim Prison.
Yesterday it was decided to arrest the jailer before entering the detention facility, on suspicion of trying to infiltrate prohibited substances into two inmates who were also arrested by the Police and Prison Investigation Unit.
According to the suspect, the warden entered a birthday cake in the cell of one of the prisoners.
IPS intelligence officials learned that 8 cannabis fingers, bullets whose origin and what they contain were sent for testing, and two bottles of alcohol were removed inside the cake.
Earlier today, the three were brought to the Rishon Lezion Magistrate's Court for an extension of detention on suspicion of allegedly committing drug offenses and fraud and breach of trust.
Their detention was extended until December 1, 2020.
During the hearing, it turned out that there was a romantic relationship between the prisoner and one of the prisoners, in which the prisoner and other prisoners had contact with drug dealers in various objects, and transferred them to the prisoner in order to put them in prison.
During the interrogation, the warden admitted that she was in contact with the prisoners.
Prison posts said: "The IPS will continue to use all means to detect improper activity among staff, and will use all the tools at its disposal to thwart attempts to introduce prohibited equipment into prisons."
