In recent hours, there have been discussions between police investigators and the State Attorney's Office regarding the charge against the father - murder, causing death by negligence or other charges.
The baby's mother, who was about four months old at the time of his death, was released on Monday under house arrest following a report by the Abu Kabir Institute of Forensic Medicine, following which investigators agreed to release her for a full seven days of house arrest according to the court decision. The father called a Magen David Adom ambulance, and later the mother herself arrived at the million room in the hospital, where she saw her husband crying.
The father was arrested for questioning after police arrived on the scene.
The next day, while at her son's bedside in the hospital, she was arrested on suspicion of abusing her son.
