The inquiries on the cause of death by HKUST student Zhou Zi today (26th) entered the 9th day.

The volunteer first responder who is currently studying in Form 6 confessed that some neighbours said that the injured had fallen off the building as if to avoid tear gas. He smelled tear gas in the parking lot of the accident, but it was not strong.

When treating the injured, he found that the opponent was incontinent, his disc and ribs were fractured, he appeared to have a pneumothorax, his head seemed to have been hit, and he thought he had severe internal bleeding.

The teenager also emphasized that the injured should be sent to hospital as soon as possible, but the firefighters said that the ambulance was blocked.

The magistrate praised the young man for "taking care of him well," and said with a smile: "You can consider becoming a doctor in the future." The court also revealed that another citizen wanted to provide new evidence.

After the juvenile gave a statement, he chatted with Zi Le's parents, and after he left the court, Zhou's father showed a rare smile.

The deceased Zhou Zile (22 years old) was found lying on the lower platform on the second floor of the Suntech Parking Lot A in the early morning of November 4 last year during the conflict between the police and the people. He died on the 8th of the same month.

Served as a first responder in a football match

Tseng Langxuan, a 17-year-old candidate for the diploma exam, confessed that he had attended the first aid class of the St. John's Ambulance Team, passed the retest in October last year, and was on duty in football matches in the past.

In public activities last year, he not only mobilized with first-aiders of the same age, but also acted with doctors and nurses. He also pointed out that practical operation and experience are very important for first aid.

Volunteer first responder Zeng Langxuan gave a testimony and chatted with Zi Le's parents for a while. When he walked out of court with Zhou's father (left), Zhou's father showed a rare smile.

Smell of tear gas but not strong

At midnight on November 4 last year, a neighbour asked for help saying that the police had issued tear gas and pepper spray, and once went to Shangde Village to assist.

Afterwards, some neighbours said that someone fell from the third floor of the parking lot to the first floor, and he entered the parking lot with several volunteer first aiders and firefighters.

He arrived on the second floor and saw firefighters rescuing the wounded. The other party claimed that the blood on the ground was flowing out of the wounded’s mouth and had called an ambulance. The neighbourhood said that the wounded seemed to be injured to avoid tear gas.

I once described the smell of tear gas at the scene, but it was not strong at the location of the injured.

Refers to the injured person has incontinence

When inspecting the victim's lower body, he found that his trousers were incontinent, so he touched the disc bone again and found it was fractured.

He then touched his ribs and found a fracture. The injured person was suspected of having a pneumothorax, and the head seemed to have been severely hit.

Due to the unstable life-saving index of the injured, Zeng took out the blood oxygen machine from the first aid kit to measure the blood oxygen level and pulse of the other party.

He said that riot police arrived about 5 minutes later and questioned why they gathered here.

The police approached and learned that the firefighters negotiated with him, and the neighborhood asked the police to leave; then the police left without hindering the rescue.

Firefighters said the ambulance was blocked and failed to arrive

After another 6 to 8 minutes, at about 1:23, the firefighter once asked when the ambulance would arrive. The firefighter replied: "Block it, you can't get in." Then a neighborhood shouted that there were ambulancemen downstairs. At about 1:34, the injured person got on an ambulance and was taken to Queen Elizabeth Hospital.

The doctor points to multiple fractures

It was once said that someone took out the wallet from the injured person in the parking lot and learned that the other party was Zi Le.

After he arrived at the hospital, he gave the personal belongings of the injured to the members of the HKUST Student Union.

The doctor pointed out that Zile had pneumothorax, rib fracture, disc fracture and sharp increase in intracranial pressure.

He also claimed that members of the HKUST Student Union and Zi Le’s friends had called Zi Le’s mobile phone, and the call was answered by him. The other party said that they would try their best to contact Zi Le’s family.

Suspected severe internal bleeding after the test

Magistrate Gao Weixiong asked if he had judged whether Zi Le's fracture was due to knowledge in the emergency class or learned from doctors during social movements in the past year.

Once responded to learning theoretical knowledge in first aid classes, he had dealt with fracture victims in public events.

In addition, he measured blood oxygen for Zi Le who was receiving oxygen at that time. At one time, he recorded a blood oxygen level of 90%, and less than 95% was not ideal.

Zeng added that there was a significant rebound when examining the abdomen, which means that Zi Le is likely to have severe internal bleeding, which also explains the drop in pulse.

The witness confessed what happened.

Guan Zan once took good care of Zile

The magistrate heard that the training he received was similar to that of doctors, and said with a smile: "You can consider becoming a doctor in the future." Once said that even if a doctor was present at the time, it would not help much. Le was admitted to the hospital to solve the problem of intracranial pressure.

Before leaving the court, the magistrate expressed to Zeng that he would like to thank him on behalf of Zile's parents, and said: "I took care of Zile well at the time."

The official revealed that another citizen provided information

The magistrate also revealed that if another citizen provides new evidence, it will be taken tonight.

After having given his testimony, he appealed to the witnesses to testify outside the court.

He revealed that he is a member of the student organization "Student Thoughts" and has no intention of becoming a doctor in the future.

Zeng Dao, in the hospital, wanted to explain Zi Le’s situation to Zi Le’s parents, but the other party was emotional and wanted to see the doctor as soon as possible; now I want to speak with Zi Le’s parents supportively.

After chatting with Zi Le's parents for a while, Zhou's father also showed a rare smile as soon as he walked out of the court.

The inquiry will continue and ambulancemen will be called to give evidence.
