The Historical Scientific Society in Syria opened a branch in Hama today with the aim of introducing the cultural and heritage value of archaeological and tourist sites and monuments and spreading awareness, thought and culture to protect them.
Ezz El-Din Ali, founder and president of the association pointed out that the idea of its establishment arose with the beginning of the terrorist war on Syria in 2011 and was announced in 2014 based on the need to preserve the Syrian cultural heritage, indicating that the association seeks to spread thought, culture and knowledge, preserve monuments and historical monuments, carry out research and various studies and provide lectures Cultural seminars, issuance of periodicals, trips of a cultural nature, research, entertainment, and resistance to cultural invasion in all its forms.
Abdel-Qader Farzat, head of the association’s branch in Hama, pointed out that the association “is a translation of what the ancestors made and what Syria illuminated the world in terms of thought, philosophy, science and art,” indicating that work will be done through this association to support the national and historical heritage in various ways.
