The slingshot won the day.
While Jean Castex announced Thursday evening November 26 that he intended to entrust the rewriting of the very controversial article 24 of the “comprehensive security” law to an independent commission, a wind of revolt immediately seized Parliament.
This Friday morning, it was the Presidents of the National Assembly and the Senate, Richard Ferrand (LREM) and Gérard Larcher (LR), who expressed their "
opposition
" to this initiative of the Prime Minister, and have invited to "
give up
" this project.

In a letter sent this Friday afternoon to Richard Ferrand, and that
Le Figaro
has obtained, the head of government "
confirms that he will not fall within the scope of this commission to propose a rewrite of a provision legislative, a mission which can only be the responsibility of Parliament
”.
The “
proposals
” which will result from the work of the mission entrusted to Jean-Marie Burguburu “
are not intended to be only legal and will also have to relate more broadly to procedural or training issues, as well as to working conditions and intervention of the press and the police
”, specifies the missive.
