"Illuminate" is the motto on Saturday, November 28th, in Ottenhofen: Then Christmas Hill will shine again.

There are no events and the popular mulled wine bar this year due to Corona.

Ottenhofen

- Corona does not mean that the lights go out on Christmas Hill - on the contrary.

Anni and Peter Huber want to delight visitors with their brightly lit house and garden on Eichenweg in Ottenhofen.

Although in a slimmed-down framework, but with at least as much passion.

The starting shot will be given on Saturday, November 28th, at 5 p.m.

Until Epiphany, January 6th, magical lights are on the agenda every day from 5 p.m. to around 9:30 p.m.

The last lights are still being attached, the last plug connections are being checked.

A reindeer died here.

“I checked it in the basement and everything worked smoothly.

Then no longer outside.

Anni operated the reindeer, which has a plastic coating, on the open heart, ”reveals Peter Huber with a smile.

Now it has recovered and has found its place in the garden.

"If there is no Christmas market, the lights are so good for us"

Otherwise everything went smoothly with the construction, which started in mid-October.

The response from the population was already positive during the construction.

"Mei, nice that you build up.

If there isn't a Christmas market, the lights are so good for us, ”said an acquaintance of Peter Huber.

Guests have to forego mulled wine, children's punch and Platzerl.

“We can't offer that because we couldn't keep the distances and regulations,” says Anni Huber.

The committed couple finds it a particular shame that no events can take place on Christmas Hill.

Whether Christmas music or singing together: the musical performances have always enjoyed great popularity.

“I also feel foolishly sorry for everyone who has always been involved”, regrets Peter Huber, who himself has played in front of a home crowd as a musician.

Meetings of larger groups are of course not permitted.

But the admiration of the magic of light is true.

Reindeer frolic in the garden, Santa Claus drives his sleigh over the roof, stars twinkle on the windows, and the Christmas train chugs across the terrace.

Deer and snowmen also populate the (currently) lush green.

And an Australian greeting from daughter Daniela should not be missing: Santa Claus comes from her and counts the days until Christmas Eve.

Boys and girls are allowed to return their letters to the Nicolaus, because the gate to the property is open.

"It would be absurd for the children and also for the adults if they could not come into the garden and the driveway and only have to marvel at everything from a distance," explains Peter Huber.

However, every guest must adhere to the rules of the game, i.e. the rules of distance.

Here the Hubers appeal to the common sense of the visitors.

Only then can this be offered.

Money for a good cause is still being collected

They also continue to collect money for a good cause.

All visitor donations go in full to the parent initiative Intern 3 in the Dr.

from Haunersche Children's Hospital Munich.

"This year we will not top the record result of 16,005 euros from the previous year," believe the Hubers, who are nevertheless happy about every gift in the donation box.

If you need a donation receipt, put your financial contribution in an envelope and write your address on it.

The Hubers take care of the formalities.

In the past few years, Peter Huber listed the income in pennies and pennies.

The couple started at Christmas 2004/05 with proceeds of 2262 euros.

Since then, they have already collected a total of 137,366 euros in donations.

In addition, there are 1448 euros that Anni Huber has earned this year by sewing masks for a good cause.

For the upcoming season, 5000 euros have already been raised.

The sister of a community citizen has died, instead of flowers and wreaths, the Huber's campaign was collected and the amount then increased.
