The Cathay Pacific Air Services staff was dissatisfied with the relevant arrangements, believing that Cathay Pacific deliberately suppressed the union's power, deprived the union of the right to negotiate, and refused to listen to employees' opinions.



The chairman of the labor union Wang Simin said that year-end negotiations are a company tradition, which is held every year for ten days.

In the past 10 years, the Association has represented more than 75% of flight attendants in negotiations with management, including salary increases, and policies for successfully extending the retirement age for employees.

She pointed out that year-end negotiations, under the condition of mutual respect and understanding, allow both parties to reach a consensus and sign an agreement, which can promote bilateral relations and labor rights.

Sun Deyan believes that Cathay Pacific’s cancellation of year-end negotiations is once again "setting a bad precedent" and "exploiting Hong Kong's rights to fight dolls" after signing an unequal contract.
