The Homs Agriculture Directorate has determined the artificial afforestation plan for the current season, the areas to be afforested, and the afforestation areas in each region.

The Director of Agriculture, Engineer Nazih Al-Rifai, said in a statement to SANA that the proposed area of ​​artificial afforestation plan for the 2020-2021 season amounted to about 150 hectares distributed over the Shumaria areas with an area of ​​55 hectares, 35 hectares in Kafranan, 30 hectares in the Nazareth project, 5 hectares in Dahr Al Qusayr and 20 hectares in Al Asila.

For his part, the head of the Tal Kalakh Forest Department, Eng. Elias Bitar, said that most of the areas that were exposed to fires in the western countryside are natural forest areas and are automatically renewed without any intervention.

Bitar pointed out that 713,600 forest plantations are ready for distribution in four nurseries: Al-Bureij, Ter Maaleh, Al-Arida and Tal Al-Ward.
