Argentine football icon Diego Maradona was buried Thursday, November 26 at around 8 p.m. (midnight in Paris) during a private family ceremony in a cemetery in Buenos Aires, at the end of a day when thousands of fans gave him paid a final tribute, according to images on Argentine television.

The hearse carrying the coffin covered with the Argentine flag had left the presidential palace at the end of the day, greeted by thousands of people along the roads before the coffin was buried in a family vault.
