Health Minister Yuli Edelstein announced today (Friday) that his office will consider continuing the outline for opening malls that began operating this morning in 15 shopping centers across the country.
This is due to the many visitors who visited the malls when the outline began, and due to the increase in coronary heart disease that has been recorded in recent days.
In a statement issued by Edelstein's office, it was stated that the Minister of Health instructed the professionals in his office, headed by the ministry's director general, Prof. Hezi Levy, and the corona commander, Prof. Nachman Ash, to hold the outline discussion as early as Saturday evening. Next week, then, Edelstein will formulate his position on the issue.
The health minister's announcement comes in response to congestion recorded at malls that began operating this morning as part of the pilot. Prolonged outside stores.

This morning, 15 malls opened across the country, as part of a pilot outline for operating shopping centers subject to the Corona regulations.
Six of them were pre-selected for the pilot, while another nine were selected in a lottery whose results were announced tonight by the Ministries of Economy and Finance.
The malls selected in the lottery are Big Fashion Beit Shemesh, Center 1 in Jerusalem, Arad Mall, Am Haderech, Seven Stars Mall in Herzliya, Sharonim Mall in Hod Hasharon, Lev Hamifratz Mall in Haifa, Arena in Nahariya, and Nof Hagalil Mall.
In addition to them, six malls from the two largest groups - Ofer and Azrieli malls - that participated in the malls revolt last week in protest of the restrictions were opened.
From the Ofer malls, the Kryon and the Petah Tikva malls (the Grand Mall) and Beer Sheva (the Grand Canyon) were opened, and from the Azrieli Group, the Haifa Mall, the Ayalon Mall in Ramat Gan and Malcha in Jerusalem were opened.
