Christine Kaiser has been giving buggy fit courses for over three years.

In the fresh air, she teaches course participants how to rebuild their muscles after pregnancy.

Currently only online due to corona.

But the trained physiotherapist has come up with something new: a fitness trail for mums at Lake Olching.

Olching

- Christine Kaiser usually does her postgraduate training courses at the Amperhof, and goes out to the lake to get a buggy fit.

"It's just perfect here, you can park easily, there are toilets and in the Villa Romantica you can also sit down after training," says the 37-year-old.

At least in normal times.

Otherwise she started with a maximum of twelve participants, all of them with prams - including the trainer.

The fitness equipment is in the stroller

“I have my office with me: dumbbells, blankets, terra bands and whatever else I need,” she says.

Sometimes she drives a tired sibling around in it when she goes from one station to the next for the course.

But that was all before Corona.

In the meantime, she also had to go online with her courses.

“It is also going very well and is well received, but it's just not the same,” emphasizes the mother of one daughter.

Christine Kaiser quickly noticed that mums are drawn to the air outside: "It wasn't what they booked either".

Of course there was a fear that many would jump off.

Fortunately, that didn't happen.

She thought a lot about what could be possible despite the contact restrictions during the lockdown.

One consideration was to let the participants start the round at the lake every ten minutes or to go outside via video.

All of that was rejected again.

In the end, however, the saving idea came to her - "it came out of necessity in my head," as she says.

Fitness round was born out of necessity

The 37-year-old sat at the computer, wrote down her seven exercises for the lake circuit, added photos to make it clear visually, laminated everything and set off for the Olchinger See.

She has fastened her notes with ribbons.

And already it was done: the buggy-fit-trim-yourself path.

For example, you need a bench for the quadruped stand or push-ups and plank, or a tree.

Often no aids are necessary, such as for the lunge step or the upper body lift.

These are the same seven exercises that Christine Kaiser usually does together with her course.

The mothers can now work through these with their strollers alone or - corona-compliantly in pairs.

And everything is explained in detail.

First the exercise itself, then the variations.

That means the level can still be increased.

And finally, there are hints of what to look out for.

How to maintain abdominal and pelvic floor tension and how to breathe: exhale when tense, inhale when relaxing.

The whole thing takes about 45 to 60 minutes - as long as a course unit with her as a trainer.

Clockwise around the lake

As usual, we start with exercise one at the Villa Romantica.

Then it's about the lake in a clockwise sense.

Christine Kaiser knows that the fitness trail is not a real replacement for her courses, but at least a supplement in a difficult time like this.

Of course, she also hopes that at some point she can go out to the lake with her mothers again to do the laps.

"I would like to see that we can get out together again in May," she says.

Idea makes schools all over Germany

It has now adjusted all its courses to online operation until March.

The fitness trail has already given her a lot of positive reactions.

“The response was mega-good.

I also get messages with photos every day, ”she says happily.

And other buggy fit trainers have also taken up their idea.

Your exercises are now hanging all over Germany in cities that offer buggy fit courses.

Recently Christine Kaiser even got a call from a friend who she spotted on the exercise sheets - in Remscheid (North Rhine-Westphalia).

Despite all the enthusiasm for her alternative offer, the 37-year-old is looking forward to everyone going out to the Olchinger See again.

“It's just something different, a lot of mothers also need contact and group dynamics.

And we were also well received, we are now really part of the lake. "
