The "Siam Gym" in Bad Tölz has established itself.

But now the martial arts school is facing an uncertain future.

Bad Tölz - The lease was canceled due to personal use, a new location is not in sight.

Only one thing is certain for co-owner Jennifer Kinshofer: “We definitely want to stay in Bad Tölz.” The “Siam Gym” is a 170 square meter Muay Thai studio on Bairawieser Straße.

Boxing, Thai boxing, MMA, Siam Fit and the so-called Krav-Maga self-defense are offered there.

In June of last year Jennifer Kinshofer and Emanuel Globisch took over the studio (we reported).

The new owner and her boyfriend run the gym part-time - Kinshofer is actually an optician, Goblisch a dental technician.

They take care of the martial arts school after work.

Difficult start for martial arts school "Had to lock up twice"

"The start was not that easy, within a year we had to lock up twice because of Corona," says Kinshofer.

Nevertheless, it was possible to increase the number of members from 50 to 80.

The popularity is now so great that the owners have in mind an expansion.

Instead of 170 square meters, it should be 250 in the future.

Kinshofer: "Then we could also offer significantly more courses and children's training."

Despite self-use termination, the landlord accommodates

Finding suitable rooms is difficult, however, even if your previous landlord is "very courteous" with the notice period.

"He said that we can go out earlier if we find something new and that we can stay longer if we can't find anything." She has already called "a lot" of landlords of vacant buildings: "The main problem in Tölz is that a lot of people have real estate but don't need the money.

They are not interested in renting out such a building, ”says Kinshofer.

Real estate companies that want to tear everything down have bought other vacant houses.

Last but not least, the costs for a broker are often high: “As a small business owner, we cannot afford that.” Nevertheless, Kinshofer and Goblisch want to stay with the Siam Gym in Tölz, “because our members also come from Geretsried, Lenggries and Holzkirchen.

Bad Tölz is simply centrally located. "
