Morocco's new illegal migration corridor is operating at full speed in the Saharan city of Dakhla, one of the most closely guarded areas in the country, where it seems almost impossible to escape the control of the authorities.
However, the makeshift boats leaving the shores of Dakhla to reach the Canaries are always more numerous.
The first began to arrive in 2018. The following year, the Spanish islands welcomed 2,698 illegal migrants arriving from Africa by sea. This year, this figure has already reached 18,300, half of them Moroccans.
And for at least three months, according to official Spanish sources, they are even in the majority compared to Sub-Saharans among the new arrivals.
