More than a ton and a half of cannabis were seized near Dijon in a Spanish heavy truck, the Dijon customs brigade said on Friday (November 27th).
The seizure took place during the control of a Spanish road complex on the A31 motorway near the exit of Til-Châtel (Côte d'Or) on November 18, the same source said.

The physical control of the trailer very quickly allowed the discovery of cannabis resin in quantity, roughly hidden in boxes in the middle of the legal freight
", add Customs in a statement.
The search will uncover 1,089.55 kg of cannabis resin and 456.30 kg of herbal cannabis.
The driver of the heavy truck was kept in detention after his custody and a judicial investigation was opened, according to the brigade.
This seizure represents a record for the regional customs directorate of Dijon since 2016. That year, more than a ton of cannabis resin was seized in a heavy vehicle bound for Île-de-France.
