The fourth wave of the new crown pneumonia epidemic was not under control, and many citizens went to undergo virus testing.

The government announced that it will set up five additional community testing centers in Kowloon and the New Territories, located in Lai King Community Hall, Fanling Wo Hing Community Hall, Tuen Mun Siu Lun Community Hall, Hang Hau Community Hall and Yau Tong Community Hall.

Among them, the Lijing Community Hall will be put into service tomorrow (28th), and the other four will also be put into operation.

The four community testing centres currently in operation will continue to provide services, including the Quarry Bay Community Hall in Eastern District, the Leong Hin Lee Community Centre in Yau Ma Tei, the Lek Yuen Community Hall in Sha Tin and the East Community Hall in Yuen Long City.

The mobile sampling kiosks and sample bottle distribution points in Sai Kung and Tai Po areas will continue to operate tomorrow and the following days (28 and 29).

The five new community testing centers will operate for three months in the first phase and can be extended for another three months depending on the situation.

The center provides nasal and throat combined swab sample collection and new coronary pneumonia virus testing services for all people who hold a valid Hong Kong ID card, Hong Kong birth certificate or other valid identification documents, including Hong Kong residents and non-Hong Kong residents, and who have no symptoms.

The center is open from 8 am to 1:30 pm and 2:30 pm to 8 pm every day. It will be cleaned and disinfected after it is closed at noon and night.

Payment can be made for test and inspection

The government stated that the local epidemic situation is deteriorating rapidly, and certain people are required to undergo mandatory testing. It also encourages the public to "should be inspected" and "willing to inspect all of them."

The government will detect specific groups as needed when there is a higher risk of community transmission.

Community testing centers also provide citizens with relatively affordable self-paid testing services for community or private purposes, such as travel or work certification. The charge is capped at 240 yuan, and payment is made according to the method arranged by the testing contractor.

The community testing center accepts appointments and on-site registration.

Citizens can provide personal information in the 24-hour appointment system, including name, valid identification document number and contact phone number, and select the location and time of the test.

The center will give priority to providing services to citizens who have made an appointment.

Before going to the community testing center, citizens can also call the testing center to check whether there is an appointment and on-site registration.

After participating in the self-paid testing service, if the result is negative, the citizen will receive a nucleic acid test result certificate issued by the testing agency within 24 hours.

As for those who are confirmed by the Department of Health as having a positive test result, they will be notified by the Department of Health in accordance with the established procedures and will be sent to a public hospital for isolation and treatment.

All post offices will also distribute sample collection kits during office hours starting tomorrow (28th). There is no charge. Each citizen is limited to one package while stocks last. All post offices will not collect samples.

The public can return samples of deep throat saliva to selected 47 general outpatient clinics of the Hospital Authority or 13 clinics of the Department of Health within a specified time.
