Beavers on the banks of the Tegernsee?
What astonishes observers is apparently not uncommon.

- When Claus Cnyrim, once mayor of the city of Tegernsee, was taking a morning walk on the lake between St. Quirin and Tegernsee these days, a bent tree trunk drew his eyes to the shore.
Apparently a beaver had done a great job and supplied itself with fresh wood.
"I've already heard that beavers are walking around here, but I'm seeing it for the first time," says Cnyrim, who pressed the shutter release on his camera to prove it.

Beavers on the lakeshore near St. Quirin?
“Not uncommon,” says Max Wolf, the district's beaver representative.
He reports on beavers that last nested at St. Quirin three years ago - in the truest sense of the word, because they were seen in a boathouse.
When asked what number he estimated the beaver population at Tegernsee, Wolf had to agree: “That is difficult to say, but there are not many.” Specimens were seen in Bad Wiessee, at the Grüner Wasserl, in the Mangfall area and just like that also in the reed area near St. Quirin.
He could not share the assessment of the district office that there could be 50 beavers in the entire district.
Expert advises: Leave the kinked wood in the water
The beaver specialist still has one piece of advice in store: “The animals are peaceful.
The kinked wood should be left in the water, then the beaver can collect supplies and does not have to look around again. "
