In recognition of his rich archive of melodies and musical compositions that he presented at the local and Arab levels in many television programs and theatrical performances, musician Hussein Nazik was one of the honorees within the Days of Syrian Culture in Damascus.
Musician Nazik was born in occupied Jerusalem in 1942 and after the city fell under the clutches of the Zionist occupation, he moved to several places before settling in Damascus since 1969.
He started his long career in composing, composing and distributing, playing various instruments in several western and eastern bands, and he participated in establishing a mobile band.
Nazik seriously sought to spread the Palestinian heritage, so he founded and contributed to the establishment of many artistic groups in Palestinian gatherings in Syria, the most important of which is the Lovers Troupe, in addition to launching the project of reviving the Palestinian heritage.
His tunes were drawn by a group of the most important Syrian artists, such as Sabah Fakhry, Mustafa Nasri, Samir Helmy and Naim Hamdi.
Among the achievements of Nazik on the musical movement in Syria was his establishment of the modern nationalist Zenobia troupe, where he composed and distributed its theatrical works and supervised their execution, and among the artistic works that he presented with the operas of a leader, a nation, and a sahir in Tishreen Square and the singers of martyrdom and martyrs.
Nazik also composed music for many theatrical works for local and international works and even for puppet theater, and his children's compositions have remained advanced in this field in meaningful educational programs such as the Iftah Ya Simsim series, as well as his musical badges for many dubbed cartoon series.
