A joint statement issued tonight by the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Economy and Industry said that these malls could be opened immediately, subject to compliance with regulations approved by the government last night.

Against the background of the Black Friday celebrations and as part of the new opening layout of the malls, 15 malls are expected to open tomorrow, when yesterday at midnight it was decided to open 6 malls of the two largest mall groups.

This involves the opening of three Azrieli malls: Malcha in Jerusalem, Ayalon in Ramat Gan and the Azrieli Mall in Haifa and three malls of Mlisron's Ofer Malls: the Ofer Grand Mall in Be'er Sheva, the Kryon and the Ofer Grand Mall in Petah Tikva.

Now, at midnight, a lottery was held regarding the identity of the other nine malls.

The pilot, at the initiative of the Ministry of Economy and Industry and at the initiative of the Ministry of Finance, is intended to examine the possibility of opening another significant commercial industry - the malls industry, which will enable commercial activity to be profitable.

This is in addition to the return to activity of thousands of stores and tens of thousands of workers employed in these commercial areas.

After the pilot period, and depending on its results, the Cabinet will decide when and in what way all the malls across the country will operate.
