Still reluctant to admit his defeat and determined to denounce as a massive fraud the presidential elections of November 3, which gave the victory to Democrat Joe Biden, President Donald Trump has taken a new step this Thursday - the second so far week-to the exit door of the White House.

Speaking to journalists during the Thanksgiving holiday, the Republican announced that he will leave the Oval Office if the Electoral College - the one in charge of certifying the victory of the winner of the elections - votes in favor of his Democratic rival.

It's the closest the mogul has come to admitting not just defeat, but Biden's triumph.

The first concession took place this Monday, when Trump gave orders to the General Service of the Administration (GSA, in its acronym in English) to provide Biden's transition team with everything necessary (from federal funds to intelligence reports) to start the relay of power.

However, Trump has insisted on Thursday that it will be difficult for him to admit his defeat "under the circumstances", in addition to declining to rule on whether he will attend Biden's inauguration on January 20.

"I will leave the White House, without a doubt, and you know that," he told reporters when asked what he will do if the Electoral College confirms Biden.

“But I think a lot of things are going to happen until January 20.

A lot of things.

Massive fraud has been discovered.

We are like a third world country ”, the Republican insisted, without offering any proof of the irregularities he denounces.

The delegates that make up the Electoral College will meet on December 14 to certify the victory of Biden, who in the popular vote surpasses Trump by more than six million votes and in electoral votes, by 306 (much more than the 270 required to be declared president) in front of the 232 of the republican.

The latter's reluctance to facilitate the transfer of power, as well as the legal campaign undertaken to challenge the result in several states, had so far hampered a usually greasy process.

Trump also announced this Thursday that he will travel to Georgia next week to support the Republican candidates for the Senate, facing the decisive partial repetition of the elections that will take place in January, in which it is played in the hands of which party will remain the control of the lower house, so it seems not to give up the battle for lost.

But, unlike in previous years, when on Thanksgiving he used to visit US troops abroad by surprise, this year the president has limited himself to holding a teleconference with military commanders from the White House - at the end of which spoke to reporters - after spending the rest of the day playing golf.
