To ensure the continued supply of water to subscribers in Al-Hasakah Governorate, whether in cities or rural communities, the Public Corporation for Drinking Water makes great efforts by conducting continuous maintenance of water projects spread in the governorate.

The corporation conducts maintenance work from its budget or in cooperation with international organizations, as it performs maintenance in cooperation with the United Nations Development Program for Water Projects in cities and rural areas, while maintenance efforts in cooperation with the Syrian Arab Red Crescent and the International Committee of the Red Cross focus on maintaining the Alouk water project in the countryside of Ras al-Ain, which It is the only source of water for the people of Al-Hasakah and the western countryside of the governorate.

The Director of the Water Corporation, Eng. Mahmoud Al-Ikla, stated to the SANA correspondent that the project implemented with the United Nations Development Program includes the rehabilitation of drinking water stations and wells in Al-Hasakah governorate and its countryside and support for the water supply in the governorate through maintenance of pumping stations, wells submersible and electrical equipment in it.

According to Al-Ukla, maintenance work, a large part of which has been completed, and work continues to maintain the remainder, including the Al-Azizia pumping station in Al-Hasakah city by providing a horizontal pumping group with a capacity of 400 cubic meters per hour and an electrical control panel for it in addition to the two pumping stations of Al-Hilaliyah and Al-Aweija in Qamishli by providing them with a horizontal pumping group of 400 meters. Cube per hour and second set of 250 cubic meters per hour and electrical control panels for horizontal pump sets.

He pointed out that maintenance work in the governorate countryside includes pumping stations for Yathrib, Umm al-Khair, Al-Barqiya, and Mushrif Al-Hamr, rehabilitating 5 wells in the areas of Tal Tamr, Tal Barak and Darbasiyah, and 33 wells in the areas of Tal Hamis and Al-Yarrabiyah by providing them with pumping and maintenance sets for submersibles and providing them with electrical supplies.

According to Al-Akla, the Foundation also carries out maintenance work for the Alouk water station in cooperation with the Syrian Arab Red Crescent Organization and the International Committee of the Red Cross, with the aim of investing in total energy and improving the reality of pumping water to the people of Al-Hasakah and the population centers in the western countryside.

He pointed out that the station's maintenance work includes all the project's equipment from the 12 horizontal pumping stations in addition to the thirty wells and the plungeons and electrical panels they contain, in addition to the installation of electrical regulators that ensure the stability and quality of the electric current during its low.

Al-Ukla explained that the goal of maintaining the project is to produce 80 thousand cubic meters of water per day, which will contribute to improving the reality of pumping water for subscribers and solving the problem of poor pumping, especially at the ends of pumping lines and high residential buildings, noting that after part of the maintenance, the quantities currently produced have reached 70 thousand Cubic meters.
