The Political-Security Cabinet this evening (Sunday) approved the transfer of NIS 2.5 billion of Palestinian tax money to the Palestinian Authority, after half a year in which the Palestinians refused to accept the money.
The cabinet also decided that an additional NIS 600 million of Palestinian tax money would be deducted, due to payments made by the Palestinian Authority last year to Palestinian prisoners and the families of terrorists killed.
Senior Israeli officials have made it clear that senior Palestinian Authority officials were informed a few days ago by the coordinator of operations in the territories that some of the tax money would be deducted.
About a week and a half ago, Israel and the Palestinian Authority agreed to resume the transfer of tax money.
This, at the end of a meeting of the Minister of Civil Affairs in the Palestinian Authority, Hussein a-Sheikh, with the Coordinator of Operations in the Occupied Territories, Kamil Abu Rokon, and in light of the renewal of security and civilian coordination.

Two days earlier, the Palestinian Authority announced the resumption of security and civilian coordination with Israel.
The Minister of Civil Affairs in the PA, Hussein a-Sheikh, announced that the decision was made after international contacts that Abu Mazen had on the issue.
Also, last month the EU made it clear to the PA that it would not provide it with additional financial assistance as long as it refuses to accept the tax money that Israel charges for it.
