In Épinal, twenty people were arrested Tuesday after an operation of the SRPJ of Nancy, of the Interministerial Research Group (GIR) of Lorraine and of the Epinal police station with the support of the Raid, said the public prosecutor Nicolas Heitz.

The investigation, led by an examining magistrate, made it possible to highlight "

sophisticated trafficking in cannabis, heroin and cocaine in the Épinal sector

", explained Nicolas Heitz.

Fifteen people under examination

The activity of the network "

was very little affected by the two periods of confinement, illustrating the solidity of its supply chains

", underlined the prosecutor, specifying that the daily receipts could be between "

4000 and 7000 euros, testifying quantities sold and a substantial clientele

”.

In total, fifteen people were indicted in this case and five imprisoned.

In the Bas-Rhin, five people were arrested, also on Tuesday, by investigators from the Strasbourg Research Section, the Anti-Narcotic Office (OFAST), the Interregional Directorate of the Judicial Police (DIPJ) and the Departmental Security, indicated the Specialized Interregional Jurisdiction (JIRS) of Nancy.

According to JIRS, this operation made it possible to complete the dismantling of a drug trafficking network, in particular heroin and cocaine.

It followed a first wave of arrests carried out in June 2020 by the Strasbourg Research Section, during which heroin and 9mm caliber handguns had been seized, said the same source.

This drug trafficking, "

organized by four experienced criminals, made it possible to irrigate the Strasbourg conurbation

", added the JIRS.

Two men and two women were presented to an examining magistrate for indictment, JIRS said, adding that two people were placed under committal.
