Education trains its teachers to build modern evaluation tests

In order to develop teachers' skills to enable them to build the test and link the developed curriculum to modern evaluation mechanisms, the Ministry of Education is working to train teachers from all specialties to prepare modern evaluation tests in various forms for all educational stages and for all subjects.

1400 teachers from different governorates began today with training on how to build modern evaluation tests for all subjects within the course that the ministry is implementing in cooperation with the United Nations Children's Fund "UNICEF" in the building of the Center for Educational Assessment and Measurement.

Dr. Ramadan Darwish, Director of the Center, pointed out in a statement to SANA that the course comes within the process of developing educational curricula that keep pace with the developments of educational methods in most countries of the world and includes training teachers to build non-traditional "objective and modern" tests, indicating that a group of specialists went to the governorates to train some teachers In it, except for Hasaka governorate, where the course is conducted remotely by specialists at the center in Damascus over a period of five days.

According to Darwish, the course constitutes a nucleus for building a content, questions and information bank to be available to degree students in principle, and then move to the rest of the classes.

Assistant Minister of Education, Dr. Abdel Hakim Hammad stressed the need to build a modern evaluation system that accompanies the development process of curricula based on basic knowledge, activities and skills required of learners after measuring and evaluating them, explaining that it is necessary to train teachers on how to build modern evaluation tests that measure the level of thinking processes of learners and classify them According to their capabilities.

The focus on the multiple choice test during the course comes from being the most difficult exam because it depends on how this experience is transferred to the educational field and the extent of its reflection on students, according to Hammad.

In his turn, Director of Damascus Education, Suleiman Yunus, indicated that the developed curricula need to build tests that suit students' skills and focus on their creative and cognitive side, while Director of Damascus Countryside Education Maher Faraj pointed out that the ministry had asked teachers to provide samples for the tests to be applied and be a draft and an experiment to build on.

The trainer, Dr. Rania Radwan, head of the educational measurement department at the center, pointed out that one of the most important tests that will be focused on is "multiple choice" as it measures all levels and skills and achieves justice among students in addition to departing from the norm and preserving the fingerprint.

The Assistant Director of the Center for Educational Assessment and Evaluation, the trainer, Dr. Nida Ali, pointed out that the learner will be able, after following the course, to build an objective test and learn the basics of assessment and measurement followed, while Jumana Al-Durra, the informatics officer at the center, indicated that the trainees will undergo an electronic test after training.

A number of trainees explained in their statements to SANA the importance of acquiring the skills of preparing modern evaluation tests and the ability to build the test and link the developed curricula with modern evaluation mechanisms according to the physics teacher in Damascus Muhammad Deeb who explained that the course measures higher mental skills, while Darine Zaitoun pointed out the importance of learning about the Chemistry School in Damascus. All new developments in the way tests are built and keep up with modern methods.

The French language teacher in Quneitra education, Hussein Al-Kurdi, pointed out that during this session, a data bank and exams bank for general certificates and then for all stages of education will be built, while the history school of Ghaida Zarba confirmed that the course depends on adding a new skill to measure the student's skills away from traditional methods.
