The reports of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) follow and resemble each other.
Year after year, they observe that the production and consumption of illicit drugs are increasing.
Since Richard Nixon launched the
"war on drugs"
in 1971, this market has only grown.
"The findings of the World Drug Report show that drug markets are developing, with the production of cocaine and opium having reached absolute records,"
said Yury Fedotov, then Executive Director of UNODC, last year.
