Mexico exceeds 100,000 deaths from covid-19 6:19

Mexico and Uruguay registered this Friday their days with the highest number of new cases of coronavirus since the pandemic began.

Mexico registered 12,081 new infections this Friday.

The total number of cases in the country amounts to 1,090,675, according to official data.

The country, according to the Ministry of Health, also confirmed 631 new deaths related to the coronavirus, bringing the total to 104,873.

In Uruguay, meanwhile, there were 186 new infections this Friday, the highest figure for a single day since March.

This places the total number of cases since the start of the pandemic at 5,303.

Of this total, 4,107 have already been recovered.

To date, the country has reported 74 deaths related to the virus.
