The play “Breaking the Noses” of the Theater Culture Directorate group in Sweida, prepared by Shady Kiwan and directed by Samir Badaish, was the opening of the fourth stage of the Suwayda Theater Festival, on the stage of the Cultural Palace in Medina.

The festival, during which 5 plays are shown at the rate of one show per day, is organized by the Directorate of Theaters and Music in the Ministry of Culture and the Department of National Theater in Sweida in cooperation with the Directorate of Culture in the Governorate. Seminars and dialogue sessions about the performances are also held during its days and a workshop entitled “Theatrical Festivals Between Reality and Ambition” to conclude its activities with an announcement Results of his competition for the best show, director, actor, actress, lighting, decor, music, two audience awards and a special jury.

The director of Suwayda culture, Basil Al-Hinnawi, indicated in a statement to the SANA cultural correspondent that the festival aims to shed light on the cultural and theatrical movement and to show it in the governorate as an ancient art that has a great role and influence in life and its enjoyment despite the dominance of technology.

While the director of the National Theater in Suwayda, Wajih Qaisiya, pointed out that the festival is being held in its fourth season out of hope to fulfill aspirations and aspirations regarding the theatrical issue in the governorate because this art is a free platform that can defend morals and convey the pulse of people and their suffering through a mass of ideas and creativity and achieve cultural goals And cognitive, behavioral and educational.

The play “Cracking the Noses” taken from the play “The Case of Noses” by the Mexican playwright by Marusha Bellalta embodies a comedy that simulates the human reality symbolically as its director explains and has been modified and added to it in a way that serves the director's vision and the text without prejudice to the basic idea of ​​the writer and what she wants to communicate about the conflicts between human beings that kill love and destroy relations.

Al-Badaish indicated that the adoption of symbolism and the presentation of the meaning on the stage was done through lighting and simple decoration based on a number of tables and some accessories within a correct dramatic employment.

The roles of the play were performed by the actors Abu Kasuah, Raneem Abu Hamdan, Ayman Al-Ghazal, Hazar Nawfal, Samir Al-Badaish, Munir Al-Jabaei, Maan Doueir, Wasima Al-Barouki, Fadia Abu Turbah, Hazem Nofal.

The work staff included Fouad Naeem in scenography, Weam Al Badaish in the design and implementation of lighting, Saeed Al Maithawi in the implementation of lighting, and Muhannad Al Bedaish in the music.

The festival's preparatory committee consisted of Director of Theaters and Music, Imad Jalloul, Director of Sweida Culture Basil Al-Hinnawi, Head of the National Theater Department in Sweida, Wajih Qaisiya, and Maan Doueir, Chairman of the Artists Syndicate in the Southern Region.

While the selection committee for performances included Benjamin Hamidan, Lotfi Azzam and Farhan Raydan, while the festival jury consists of Dr. Tamer Al-Arbeed, a professor at the Higher Institute of Theater, as chairman, in addition to membership in the editor-in-chief of the Theatrical Life magazine, Joan Jan, and the director of the national theater in Damascus, Suheir Barhoum.
