The launch of the pilots for the opening of the malls, markets and museums started last week, and now the gyms forum is demanding that the Corona Cabinet also open up its branch to pilot in the green cities.

The owners of the training institutes are putting pressure on the decision-makers, since according to the plan to leave the quarantine, they are preparing to open only in the fourth phase - which was planned for December 20.

This is subject to the morbidity data, which do not appear to be optimistic: the coefficient of infection reached 1.16 this week, while the fourth stage requires a significantly lower figure - 0.4.

The gyms realize that the opening of the branch, which was pre-placed in one of the last places in line, now seems farther away than ever.

Last Thursday, representatives of the gyms forum met with senior Ministry of Health officials to introduce them to a pilot to open up the industry.

Unlike the outline of a return from the first closure, the gyms forum now seek to bring the industry back to activity in green cities only.

In addition, according to the outline proposed by the forum, the number of people who will be allowed to stay together in space will decrease, arrival for training will be coordinated in advance, and classes that will be defined as high-intensity classes will be eliminated.

It will also be mandatory to wear masks in the gym space.

According to forum representatives, the pilot outline presented fell on deaf ears.

"They (the Ministry of Health, SG) say that exercise is an important thing, but there is a queue, and everyone says they are the most important," said Holmes Place CEO Drunk Foundation.

"We did not really get a sympathetic ear, there is a kind of insistence on 'holding the stages'. Although we see that when politics enters, then the stages are undermined, such as the opening of the B & Bs and more," she added.

"With all the pilots they perform, and the way they run the event, I'm not sure we'll even get to the fourth stage."

    • Most fitness clubs have installed smart ventilation systems, which take care of the air circulation in the space

    "I stopped looking for logic."

Drunk Foundation, CEO of Holmes Place

Last week, the gyms forum set up a protest tent in front of the Knesset, and its people intend to keep it until the industry returns to activity.

They stressed that "fitness clubs are a local business and there is no reason to close them in green and yellow cities with low morbidity. It is a pity that the Ministry of Health does not understand that winter has begun, and today there is no response to 1.5 million Israelis, even in foreign activities."

According to Shatui, the forum considered taking "unilateral steps", ie opening up in violation of "irrational" guidelines.

According to her, "the guidelines say that 20 people outside and ten people inside can exercise, but not if it's a gym. I have already stopped looking for logic. All I find is just to put the people of Israel in anxiety, to put the corona as a top priority. "And leave all the other diseases aside and say okay, we will deal with them later."

"I am at the mercy of the bank"

Moore Buchnik, owner of a dance studio on the Midtown dance center in central Tel Aviv, told why it is critical to open the institute she owns, especially during the Corona.

"In my studio, I work a lot with victims of sexual assault, with girls who have been traumatized. The page helps them rebuild themselves, regain self-confidence."

She explained that the place has been closed continuously since September 17, and that since "some of the girls have reached a difficult mental state, there are those who have stopped eating and are not leaving the house."

Buchnik went on to say that "we have one trainee who went through a very difficult experience at the age of 13, today she is 38 years old, and testifies that following the prolonged closure the whole traumatic experience returned to her."

According to her, some of the trainees in the studio also take part in demonstrations to return the gyms.

"I keep getting calls from customers asking me when we will return to activity. They offer me to open 'in Shoshu.' But we do not want to break the law, we want to open according to the parking lots."

"We are depressed, resentful and scared."

Buchnik clarified that her financial situation has deteriorated in the past year, and that she is "at the mercy of the bank and its business owner."

She said, "It's not that I can act outside. I was strangled. We are depressed, resentful and scared. We are not healthy."

She added that "I received a grant from the state that does not even cover my rent. I have a 140 sq.m. studio in the center of Tel Aviv, even the property tax goes down every month as usual, because a million forms and applications have to be submitted and it takes time.

I am not getting along at the moment and I am at the mercy of the bank and the business owner, if they come towards me I will get along, and not because the state is helping me. "

"If need be I will starve and open up against the law"

Einat Bezeq, who owns a studio in Hod Hasharon, said that "I have a relatively small studio, a boutique studio. I have been closed intermittently for nine months. There are thousands of other businesses like me in the country that are bankrupt, who brought them turnips and have no livelihood."

She explained that she continues to pay full rent, and that "no one refers to the fact that my studio has been closed and locked for months."

"I sleep in a tent in the Knesset, and if necessary I will also starve and eventually open in violation of the law," Bezeq continued.

"They made us criminals. My trainees beg me to open up, I am their sanity, their mental health. I maintain a healthy lifestyle for them, because when they stop exercising they also start eating incorrectly, the tests become abnormal, the mental state deteriorates," she explained.

"I sleep in a tent in the Knesset."

Einat Bezeq, owner of a studio in Hod Hasharon

She said, "No one has really proven that in the gym and in the studio we are infected, we keep the distance, the entry and exit of people, all the conditions of the purple character. But we are treated as 'lepers', as if these are mass events like weddings. We have control, Drawings, health statements. "

Bezeq also referred to the pilot of opening malls and markets that began last Friday, saying: "I saw what went on in malls this weekend. There are also pictures from the markets. So where is the safest place to be - in a mall, market or my studio? They opened because they have a Knesset lobby. There are ministers who take care of them, no one cares for us. "

The Ministry of Health stated in response that "at this stage, the morbidity is on the rise - something that does not allow the opening of gyms and other areas."
