According to sources in Beirut, the continuation of the negotiations has been postponed. • Israel is angry both at the difficulties posed by the partners in the discussion and at the breach of the agreement regarding the media updates.

Following the public confrontation between Energy Minister Yuval Steinitz and Lebanese President Michel Aoun, sources in Beirut leaked to the media there about postponing the fourth round of talks between the parties.

The talks were scheduled to take place later this week but following the difficulties the Trump administration, which serves as a mediator, has discreetly informed state representatives of the postponement of the meeting.

The Americans have informed the parties that they will be the ones to inform the media of the rejection, and the briefing on the matter has already been scheduled for tomorrow afternoon (Israel time).

This morning, however, the Lebanese media reported that the next round of talks had been postponed.

In Israel, they were doubly angry - both at the difficulties posed by the Lebanese and at the violation of the agreement regarding the media updates.

An official involved in the negotiations said: "The American team mediating the talks has decided to focus at the moment on skipping between the parties in order to prepare the ground for the next round of talks."

However, in the face of the repeated failures in the talks, Israeli officials are lowering expectations and saying that the chances that will lead to a solution to the conflict, which has been going on for a decade, are slim.
