The Arab world media today (Monday) published the name of a senior member of the logistics unit of the Revolutionary Guards who was killed yesterday in a UAV attack in northeastern Syria. According to reports, Muslim Shehdan, a colonel serving in the Imam Ali base near the Iraqi border.
According to reports from Iraqi sources to the Emirati al-Arabiya network, three other escorts, apparently also belonging to the Revolutionary Guards, were killed by a missile fired from an unmanned aircraft, whose affiliation is unclear, as they entered Syria from Iraqi territory.
A rebel-affiliated news agency, Step News, reported yesterday that a senior member of the Quds Force's logistics unit was killed when a missile fired from a UAV hit the vehicle he was traveling in. Two other Iranians who were in the vehicle were killed along with it. The aircraft may be a UAV operated by the American coalition, which has previously carried out airstrikes against pro-Iranian elements in the Syrian-Iraqi border area.
According to the Syrian news agency, planes apparently belonging to the American coalition carried out attacks on ten targets in the area of the border town of Buchmal in which several pro-Iranian militiamen were injured as well as ammunition depots and equipment belonging to them.
In the area of the border crossing to Qaim is a large military base, the "Imam Ali Base", built in the last two years by members of the Revolutionary Guards and used as a front station for the pro-Iranian militias.
