Veil investigators secure counterfeit money - the owner wants to have bought movie money "for fun"

Veil investigators from the Raubling border police discovered a total of 2340 euros in counterfeit money during a car check at the Irschenberg gas station and rest area.

As reported by the Raubling border police, Schleierfahnders checked a VW with German registration last Friday around 8:20 p.m.

When the officers from the Kreuth border police took a closer look at the 22-year-old driver, they found a total of 46 counterfeit notes in his wallet.

Counterfeit money turned out to be movie money and death money

“These were 20 euro bills with the imprint“ Copy ”, so-called“ Movie Money ”and 50 and 100 euro bills with Chinese characters,” said the police.

According to a press release, the latter are also known as death money and in some cultures used as grave goods.

Counterfeiting of money is punishable by heavy penalties

When asked about this, the young man told the officials that he had bought the money on the Internet "for fun".

"The investigators found it less fun and arrested the native Croat for the time being," the police wrote.

He received a complaint on suspicion of counterfeiting - a crime that is punishable by heavy penalties.

The police officers seized the counterfeit money.

After completing all police measures, the man who lived in the Rosenheim district was able to leave the office again.

The Miesbach criminal police is conducting further investigations.

“Movie money in particular is hard to distinguish from real banknotes from the outside.

The small imprint 'Copy' or 'Prop copy' on the back is easy to miss.

The counterfeit money can be identified using the 'feel-see-tilt' test method.
