Dozens of family members, relatives and acquaintances came to the Shikun Veterans Cemetery in Netanya to accompany Yonatan Halo on his final journey.

Family members shouted for help and waved his picture.

Alon Eisenberg, the lawyer who accompanied him in his legal battle, said: "This is a very sad day. The heart is broken. I met Jonathan for the first time nine years ago after he tried to commit suicide because they did not believe he was raped. At the end of the day we managed to release him, "The prison became a nightmare. No one was waiting for him outside, no rehabilitation was done for him and no financial support was given to him."

He said, "The prosecution disintegrated from her morals because she fought for him to be in jail as much as possible. After the court ruled he had been sexually abused the prosecution should have let him go. It should have ended after two years and not eight years in prison. Everyone should do mental arithmetic."

Halo, 32, was found lifeless at the beach yesterday.

He is survived by his mother and seven brothers.

Police estimate he ended his life.

His family members point the finger of blame at the authorities and claim that since he was released from prison he has not been in a rehabilitative setting and his mental state has deteriorated.

Halo was convicted in 2013 of the murder of Yaron Eileen and sentenced to 20 years in prison.

After it became clear that Eileen had raped him, the Supreme Court changed the offense to manslaughter and reduced his sentence to 12 years in prison.

About two years ago, after eight years in prison, he was released and moved to a kibbutz in the north, where he used violence and was returned to prison after it was determined that he had violated the conditions of his release.

About six months ago he was released again after eight months in prison.

On Tuesday, his traces disappeared and after such searches, his body was found yesterday morning at the beach.

Edna, Yonatan's sister, said yesterday: "He left yesterday and we do not know what is happening. The body in Abu Kabir. He disappeared yesterday, he did not answer the phone. The last call was with my sister at 13:00. We reported the absence to the police. This morning the police came And she said they found him in the rocks. "

"He wanted to work and did not find a job. He was taken out of prison and thrown straight away. He did not want to be in Netanya but he had no choice. He had to be rehabilitated. He should not be thrown out like that. He thought he would get out of prison and go to work. Than in jail. He wanted to work and wanted them to find him a frame. They told him to wait for rehabilitation. They did not do any rehabilitation. It's a sad, difficult day. I do not digest at all that he is not with us. I do not believe he did anything to himself. We will wait for the results of the investigation. "He went to the sea. We are waiting for an answer from Abu Kabir," she added.
