Wartenberg's mayor Christian Pröbst has big plans for the coming year despite Corona.

He speaks to our newspaper about his long list.

Wartenberg

- The Wartenberg town hall is busy working on a presentation that citizens will soon find on the community website.

Podcasts are still being edited.

The report is intended as a replacement for the citizens' meeting that was canceled due to the corona.

Regarding the pandemic, Mayor Christian Pröbst is in conversation with our newspaper at his 2020 highlight: “I think it's great how we managed to do it in the market.

Initiative was immediately taken and the people helped. ”In this context, Pröbst is also very proud of the DeSchoWieda Open Air on the Nikolaiberg.

The community chief hopes there will even be a whole cultural summer in 2021 - if Corona plays a role.

Business tax: more income than expected

You don't want to let the virus stop you in the market anyway, as the long list of projects that Pröbst has in mind for the coming year shows.

“The budget is going to be difficult,” says the mayor, but he immediately sends a big but afterwards: “We have a huge advantage.

We have significantly more trade tax income than expected. ”The budget for 2020 was only calculated with two million euros - after a strong previous year with 5.4 million euros.

But it will be around 2.8 to three million euros, i.e. 40 to 50 percent more.

“We don't have a corona-sensitive business,” explains Pröbst.

And it gets even better: In the past few years, trade tax revenues were not so high on average that the market would not receive a trade tax equalization payment.

“But we don't yet know how much we will be allocated,” says Pröbst.

Local heating network west of the Strogen

The construction of a local heating network will be exciting, namely for the west side of the Strogen to supply the entire district there.

According to Pröbst, a neighborhood concept must first be commissioned.

Building area with 150 residential units

As part of the urban development funding, Pröbst wants to tackle an integrated urban development concept (ISEK).

He wants to avoid excessive population growth.

In this context, the planned new construction area Kleinfeld-West, which will offer around 150 residential units, is exciting.

Pröbst can imagine that the land will be sold under heritable building rights.

The development plan should be ready in 2021.

The area is then to be connected to the planned local heating network, fossil fuels are excluded.

The market also has all municipal properties examined to determine whether they are suitable for photovoltaics.

There is also an expert opinion.

According to Pröbst, the sewage treatment plant is 100 percent an option, and “something is possible on the roof of the fire station”.

Daycare fees will be increased

The fees for after-school care center, kindergarten and crèche in the market will be increased, Pröbst does not want to give any figures on this yet.

A corresponding proposal will be submitted to the local council at the beginning of the year.

The increase is to be staggered between September 2021 and 2022 so that it does not turn out to be extremely high in one fell swoop during the pandemic.

According to Pröbst, the canal fees will also rise, but not until January 2022.

House for children needs renovation

"A major project" is what Pröbst calls the general renovation of the house for children, which starts around Easter and will take the rest of the year.

The tin roof is in such a bad condition that it is already covered by a tarpaulin weighted down with sandbags.

The work on the old schoolhouse should be completely completed by Whitsun - with the completion of the playground.

It is well known that this is needed because without it the market would not receive any funding for the entire renovation.

School expansion: results in February

The market has commissioned a feasibility study from two offices for the Marie Pettenbeck School.

The final results are expected in February.

Pröbst puts the big question like this: "Refurbishment, on, on, or new building?"

Is the Hartl Bridge passable in July?

The new Hartlbrücke should be accessible by the end of July.

A citizen had asked in a letter to the editor in our newspaper why it would now cost one million and not 700,000 euros.

The latter sum was only the result of the tender, which does not include the costs for architects and project engineers, explains Pröbst.

The bridge must not be less than 6.50 meters wide so that the market receives funding.

The social housing at An der Kammerstatt will not be built in the coming year.

According to Pröbst, the planning must first be reworked: "Something is wrong with the parking spaces."

Inventory analysis for upper marketplace

And what happens to the buildings on the upper market square, of which the market, as reported, secured some some time ago?

First of all, an analysis of the current situation is required, which is necessary for a feasibility study.

For the latter, there would be no funding without analysis, said the mayor.

So that the issue of flood protection can be tackled more quickly, at least in parts, two construction measures from the protection concept are preferred.

Two passages under the ED 19 will soon be enlarged.

The rest, which affects more citizens directly, comes later.

Two dates for the folk festival

If Corona plays along, the folk festival will take place from June 17 to 21.

The alternative date suggested by Market Councilor Michael Pröbst in late autumn has now been set: September 24th to 28th.

“Maybe we can do it,” says his brother.

The media center will be 20 next year, so it should be freshly whitewashed, and events are planned - if Corona allows it.

This also applies to the celebrations with service for the 300th birthday of the Marian column.

Pröbst also wants to find a replacement for the greengrocer who moved to Erding.

This was regularly on the marketplace until he left.

Sponsorships for green spaces

Soon the community wants to initiate sponsorships for green spaces.

The citizens should be sponsors, and the community will soon launch an appeal in the newsletter.

The skater area should get lighting.

A few years ago the Wartenberg offspring had already submitted a list of signatures, now, according to Pröbst, that was the case again.

Meanwhile, the fire brigade can look forward to their team transport vehicle, which, according to Pröbst, they will receive in February.

In addition, the 28-year-old LF 16 is to be replaced by an LF 20.

The mayor estimates that it will take two or three years.

Conversations with specialists

The improvement of medical care will be further refined from January / February.

An office is in discussion with specialists and is preparing a feasibility study.

Finally, a personal wish from the mayor: He wants to bring the Leonhardi ride back to Wartenberg in 2021.
