As part of an ongoing dispute with the State Attorney's Office and the heads of the Ministry of Justice, DIP Deputy Attorney Moshe Saada filed a petition with the High Court demanding that the State Attorney's Office announce whether there is an intention to fire Petro or not.

As part of the petition, Saada raises information about the conduct of the police and the top of the Ministry of Justice, ostensibly, in recent years, focusing on two cases: the case of the interrogation of Superintendent Roni Ritman for sexual harassment;

And the Umm al-Hiran affair and the death of Yaakov Abu Alqian.

Thus, according to the petition, at the end of 2015, close to the entry of Roni Alsich into the position of commissioner, DIP received information that Superintendent Rittman had sexually harassed policewoman Ch.

"The numerous pieces of evidence gathered during the DIP investigation included testimonies from trusted witnesses." Accordingly, Saada said, a meeting was held with Shai Nitzan, then deputy ombudsman for special positions, at the end of which he got the impression that he supported DIP's position. Moreover, after a meeting between DIP chief Nitzan and spokesman Weinstein, there was a "reluctance" to summon Ritman to a pre-dismissal hearing. Saada was surprised to find out that after a meeting in the presence of Commissioner Alsheikh, Weinstein decided to close the case.

The second case that Saada details is the shooting of Yaakov Abu Alqian in Umm al-Hiran in January 2017. "The Israeli police did not cooperate with the investigation ... During the investigation, pressure was exerted by Commissioner Alshikh, and the investigation was even disrupted," Saada writes, claiming that Alshikh ordered his assistant "Enter the restaurant."

Retired Superintendent Roni Rittman, Maroni Alsich and the police received no response.

The Ministry of Justice stated: "Our response will be submitted to the court, as long as we are asked to do so." State Attorney Shai Nitzan stated that the role of State Attorney and Attorney General is not to be a 'rubber stamp' of DIP recommendations - but their job is to examine the evidence and receive A professional decision in each case on its own merits.
