It has not been a question for a long time that the Irschenberg sewage treatment plant needs to be renewed.

The financing is still open.

Irschenberg

- "It is clear that we have to go two ways when it comes to costs," explains Mayor Klaus Meixner (CSU) when asked by our newspaper.

That means: Part of the construction costs of an estimated 6.5 million euros will be accounted for via the fee level - as so-called profitable debts - and part of it will have to be borne by the affiliated citizens as part of a one-off improvement contribution.

As reported, the system is now around 42 years old.

The current requirements for degrees of cleaning are no longer met.

Therefore the community has to build a new sewage treatment plant.

The possibility of attaching to the Bruckmühl disposal system has already been examined and rejected as too expensive.

It remains with the new construction of the plant, which is to be implemented at the existing location with ongoing operations.

The timetable for the new building is in place

The timetable currently looks like this: The engineering services are currently being awarded.

This includes who is handling the tender.

The draft of the approval planning should be available in spring - approval is planned for summer 2021.

Then the tender can also begin.

The contract award is planned for winter 2021/22.

Construction would start in spring 2022, commissioning in spring 2023. It all depends on how the situation with Corona turns out - also with a view to the municipal budget

No government funding in sight

Because splitting costs is a difficult matter.

Because in Irschenberg, which is known to consist of over 100 districts and hamlets, by far not all citizens are connected to the municipal sewage network.

In many cases, a three-chamber system is sufficient for on-site clarification.

This reduces the number of households connected, which means that the fee increases for the individual.

The municipality has so far been unsuccessful in trying to find government funding opportunities - which Meixner worries: “There is no program for existing systems, only for lines.

You ask yourself. ”A two million grant, for example, would noticeably relieve the burden on citizens.

Without it, however, they remain responsible.

Bayrischzell feels the same way

A problem that Irschenberg is not alone in.

The municipality of Bayrischzell also needs a new sewage treatment plant and faces the same problem with an estimated 3.5 million construction costs.

Meixner therefore wants to talk to his colleague Georg Kittenrainer.

The aim is to burden the citizens as little as possible.

As reported, it is up to the municipality to decide on the financing.

In Miesbach, for example, a few years ago it was a political decision to forego high one-off contributions when investing in the waterworks and network.

In the 2020 budget, these debts hit with 9.2 million euros - as profitable debts that are paid off through consumption and currently benefit from the low interest rate level.
