At 10:23 am today (1st), a light goods vehicle was driving along the Mai Po section of Castle Peak Road in the upshui direction. When approaching near Mai Po Road off Ya Yiju, it knocked down a male passerby and fell into a coma. People immediately called the police when they saw this. The 60-year-old man named Tan suffered head injuries and was rushed to Tuen Mun Hospital by ambulance in critical condition.
The police arrived at the scene and after preliminary investigation, the 27-year-old light cargo driver surnamed Huang was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving causing serious bodily harm to others and is currently being detained for investigation.
