Barley cultivation continues in Daraa, with the cultivated areas to date amounting to 15,100 hectares out of the planned area of 27,790 hectares, with an implementation rate of 54.3 percent.
The Assistant Director of Agriculture and Agrarian Reform in Daraa, Engineer Bassam Al-Hasheesh, said in a statement to SANA's correspondent today that the agricultural operations in the current season have improved due to the appropriate climatic conditions for cultivation and the availability of production requirements in acceptable quantities, indicating that the planned area of irrigated wheat amounts to 8996 hectares of which 1100 hectares have been implemented to date, with an implementation rate of 12.2 For rain-fed wheat 77,265 hectares, of which 9 thousand hectares have been exhausted so far, with an implementation rate of 11.6 percent.
Al-Hasheesh explained that agriculture is continuing, and the authorities concerned with the agricultural sector are working to secure all supplies in order to contribute to the implementation of the plan in the required form, indicating that the fuel subcommittee approved in its last meeting to increase the allocations for one dunum to be planted with wheat from a liter of diesel to three liters in order to provide the material in acceptable quantities.
