Because of Corona, the city band had to cancel their contemplative Advent concert in the monastery church and the youth wind orchestra had to cancel its benefit concert in St. Bernhard.

The musicians have come up with something so that it doesn't turn out to be a quiet Advent.

Fürstenfeldbruck - Every day you open a door of your digital Advent calendar and play Christmas brass music.

The band members had performed in small ensembles over the summer and rehearsed in the fall.

“You almost forgot how bad it is,” says conductor Paul Roh, referring to the new mandatory break.

That is why there is a virtual musicians 'regulars' table every Tuesday, where you are always looking for new ideas to get something going and to stay in contact with the audience.

The idea of the digital Advent calendar emerged from the youth around the director Grit Hutter, reports Roh.

24 Christmas music greetings

And around 40 musicians have now put this idea into practice.

Siblings or wind players from two households recorded Christmas carols - sometimes in the living room by the Advent wreath, sometimes under the Christmas tree on the street.

There is also a Perchten song and a waltz to be heard, reveals Paul Roh.

"And the Christmas story is read out in 24 parts."

Hutter's daughter cut videos from the music contributions.

They are between three and five minutes long and can be viewed on the Fürstenfeldbruck town band's YouTube channel.

The musicians hope for many clicks.

“Many are at home and you can't hear anything from outside,” says Roh.

"And it was an effort."

Since it is foreseeable that no orchestra rehearsals can take place over the winter due to corona, the regulars' table on Tuesday remains for the time being.

"We do theory and prepare for the examination for the musicians' achievement badge of the Musikbund," says the 45-year-old.

Seven musicians want to take the virtual exam at the beginning of December - despite Corona.

In addition, the individual registers rehearse in digital form on Thursdays.

The annual concert should finally be rescheduled - even if a date is currently still in the stars.

New dances are rehearsed

Tanzlmusi was particularly popular in summer.

Small ensembles repeatedly played on the dance platform of the Mahavi Group in the Marthabräu beer garden - alternating with other ensembles from the district chapels.

And there were also several appearances in the ants parlor and in some gardens of the nursing homes.

This is important for the chapel because they were able to generate at least some income through donations.

A continuation in summer is planned.

Therefore, the ensembles are currently studying new doubles, lathe operators, landlers and waltzes at a distance.
