The quantities of diesel allocated and sold to farmers have reached 210,750 liters, covering the various regions of the governorate, for the necessity to implement the plan for cultivating the wheat and barley crops for the current season and to date.

The vice president of the Peasants' Union in Sweida, Rakan al-Sahnaoui, stated in a statement to SANA's correspondent that the provision of diesel fuel for agricultural purposes is done through the Union stations in the city of Suwayda and the village of Salim, and it is sent by tankers to the villages and regions of the province in coordination with the agricultural associations according to schedules approved by the spatial committees in each region.

Al-Sehnaoui indicated that the quantities allocated to cultivating each dunam amount to 2 liters, explaining that the distribution percentage has reached 17 percent so far of the total actual need for cultivating the two crops, which amounts to one million and 215 thousand liters, as work is being done to complete them successively with the continuation of agricultural operations for the two crops during the current month and the next.

The plan to cultivate the wheat crop in Sweida for the current season amounts to 40763 hectares and barley 20,040 hectares.
